We had 5 absolutely fantastic days and nights at Bayview beach resort in Ngapali Beach. Over and over again throughout our stay we concluded "we made the right choice picking Bayview!"
The broader service level was really great, at all levels of management. Upon arrival, we were greeted by assistant manager Sarah and throughout our visit, either Patrick or Sarah personally checked with us that everything was indeed to our satisfaction, at breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. Though spoken English is not outstanding anywhere in Myanmar, most staff spoke decent English, and coupled with a great desire to help and understand, we could always make ourselves understood.
Our room: A good-sized bungalow, facing the ocean (I could both see and hear the waves from my bed :-)), hitting that perfect balance between a Myanmar identity and Western standards.
The resort:
- A fantastic restaurant, with dishes from Myanmar, broader South East Asia as well as Western food, or great mixes thereof. We ended up having all our lunches and dinners at Bayview's restaurant!
- We also tried out the spa; a nice new facility with very friendly prices (approx 30 USD for a 60 min massage).
- The resort obviously also had a nice pool, next to the breakfast area. It also had a shop with some basics (SPF, Mosquito Spray) and souvenirs. There is decent WiFi across the hotel; it is not working all that great, but then again, this is Myanmar
Dear Spelina
Thank you for your lovely description of your recent stay with us. We are happy that you appreciated the architecture and infrastructure of our boutique hotel.Your point about the high prices, i would like to explain. We are always pretty much into supporting and training our staff, Also we try to pay fair and reasonable salaries. Therefore it is hard to compete price wise with the local beach bars or small restaurants, who are mostly family run.
Also we are paying our employees a salary during the rainy season to ensure sustainability. However we strongly believe, that our prices are more than reasonable compare to the quality of food and service you receive in our restaurants. Maybe next time, you will give it a try :)We are hoping to welcoming you again during your next visit in the golden land.
